James Cecil Rogers

Jim Rogers Lenoir, NC- Mr. James “Jim” Cecil Rogers, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born May 29, 1934 in Wilkes County, Jim was a son of the late Elizabeth Barlowe.  Jim was a member of the Union Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He spent his entire working career in the furniture industry. Other than his mother he was preceded in death by his son, Marty Rogers. Jim is survived by his wife, Willie “Teddie” Rogers of the residence; four step-sons, two brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one special granddaughter, Leah; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Union Baptist Church on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:30 with Pastor Myron Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 prior to the service.
