James Hubert Miller

Hudson, NC- Mr. James Hubert Miller, age, 86, of Hudson, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.Born November 19, 1928 in Caldwell County, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Oscar James and Bertha Mae Hall Miller and the husband of the late Doris Carpenter Miller. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ralph, Carl, Wilson and Boyd Miller and 2 sisters, Clarissa Townsend and Dorothy Miller. James was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter of elk, antelope, deer and bears. He is survived by three children; Ronald Hubert Miller and wife Jill of Vale; Sandy Bishop Ramsey of Hudson; Loretta Hice and husband Alton of Hudson; 2 sisters, Loreane White and husband Frank of Hudson; Linda Austin of Hudson; one brother, Clyde Miller and wife JoAnne of Hudson; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Miller’s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Glen Walker and Reverend Edd Warren officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be:Devin Hice, Johnny White, Jason Mikeal, Josh Davidson, Tommy Courtner, Robert Miller, Richard Miller and Freddie Rios.Honorary pallbearers will be the Bill Kincaid Sunday School Class.
