James Shields Mccall

James Shields McCall passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Shaire Center. He was born on February 3, 1936 to the late James Lawrence McCall and Tera Donella Hips McCall.

Shields was veteran of the United States Army and graduated from Caldwell Community College with degrees in Furniture, Business Administration and Drafting. He later attended Appalachian State University. Shields was the founder and owner of Carolina Base Pac and a member of Lenoir Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Ivolee Moose; granddaughter, Marie Sommers; brothers, Roland Boyce McCall and Charles Larry McCall; and twin sisters, Bell McCall Aery and Nell McCall Greene.

Shields is survived by his wife, Ruth O’Neal McCall; daughters, Rene’ McCall and Paige McCall; son, James McCall, II; step-children, Greg Bullard and Donna Matkovich; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
