Lenoir, NC- Mr. James Lee Lowe, age 78, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Swain County on April 19, 1935 to the late William Lowe and Gladys Franklin Lowe. He was married to Betty Price Lowe of the home for more than 57 years. Mr. Lowe retired from Broyhill Industries as a maintenance manager after more than 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a founding member of the former Lenoir Rescue Squad. Mr. Lowe enjoyed playing golf and working in his garden. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Pope, Helen Matheson, and Juanita Lowe. Other than his wife he is survived by his daughters, Pam Lowe; Cindy McGee and husband Rick; son Kenny Lowe and Kim Hollifield and Bradley Adamson; sisters, Barbara Price and husband Paul; Darlene Bentley and husband David; Clara Anderson and husband Gene and Marla Greer and husband Larry; grandchildren, Kayla McGee, Ethan McGee, and Gabriel Lowe. A celebration of Mr. Lowe̢۪s life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Heavenly Hope Baptist Church at 2:00 with Reverend Benny Greene, Reverend Bobby Pritchard and Reverend Ed Warren officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers will be: Glen Dean, Jeff Ingle, Bruce Coffey, Dale McJunkin, Jr., Ralph Guy, and Kenneth Bentley.
