James Taft Laws

Lenoir, NC- Mr. James Taft ?Jackie? Laws, Jr., age 66, of Lenoir, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born September 26, 1942 in Caldwell County, James was a son of the James Taft and Bertha Ethel Hollar Laws, Sr. James was a plant worker at the Bernhardt Furniture Company0 for many years. He was Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Vinson Laws; a sister, Josephine Minton; and a grandson, James Steven Moffitt. James is survived by his wife, Brenda Laws of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jimmy Moffitt of Lenoir; Two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Willard and Nicole Laws of Lenoir, and Douglas Carroll Laws of Lenoir; two granddaughters, Stephanie Laws and Holly Laws of Lenoir; four grandsons, Jimmy Owens, Matt Laws, Christopher Moffitt, and Cody Moffitt all from Lenoir; one great granddaughter, Aaliyah Griffin of Lenoir; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Michael Minton officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
