James Kent Craig

Hudson, NC- Mr. James Kent Craig, age 81, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at his home. Born June 7, 1929 in Hudson, Kent was a son of the late Charles Astor Craig, Sr. and Annie Shell Craig.  He was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Hudson First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Brothers in Christ Sunday School Class and was a Navy Veteran.  Kent was a traffic manager at the Fairfield Chair Company for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Craig, Paul Craig, Charles A. Craig, Jr.; three sisters, Mary Childers, Bryte Hunt and Mildred Craig. He is survived by his wife, Mickey Craig of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Debra Holsclaw and Mrs. Denise Bare of Granite Falls, Ms. Daun Daemon of Raleigh; Grandchildren, Mr. Miles Bare of Knoxville, TN, Mr. Matthew Bare of Raleigh, Mrs. Elizabeth Dehaan of Virginia; a sister Mrs. Bobbie Sherrill of Greensboro;  he is also survived by three great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Kent’s life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Hudson First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Mack Jarvis and Dr. Wade Dellinger. Interment will follow the service in the Sardis Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to the Hudson First Baptist Church at 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28638.
