James Gerald Bryant

Hudson, NC- Mr. James Gerald Bryant, age 69, of Hudson, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born March 2, 1942 in Caldwell County, Mr. Bryant was a son of the late James Lester Bryant. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He had worked as a draftsman for Taylor Construction Company and GC Construction. Gerald loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Janet Setzer Bryant, to whom he was married for 30 years, his mother, Doris Knight Bryant of Lenoir, his children, Lori Lynn Bryant of Wilkesboro; Dennis James Bryant of Hudson, Scott Lester Bryant and wife Jordyn of Hudson; Shane Franklin Bryant, of the home; his sister, Linda Chester and husband Roger of Granite Falls and three grandchildren, Heather, Larkin and Mahayla. A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2012, at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Jason Guyer officiating. A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held on Sunday, from 3 until 4 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church.
