James Larry Bridges

Lenoir – Mr. James Larry Bridges, age 62, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.Born November 8, 1952 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Charles Arthur and Katherine Scott Bridges. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Bridges. James loved his family and loved to help people in the community with yard work and other chores.He will be remembered for his martial arts. He is survived by his four children, Patrick Christopher Avery of Lenoir; Rebecca Bridges of Lenoir; Jessica Bridges of West Jefferson; Tracy Price of Hickory; two sisters, Nellie Torrence and husband Brenton of Statesville; Barbara Ann Bridges of Lenoir and a brother, Charles Bridges, Jr. of Lenoir.He is also survived by six grandchildren, Gilbrione Bridges; Alexis Blue; Cordian Logan; Adrian Cook; Ashton Cook; Palagia Cook, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of James’ life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Jerome Pearson officiating. The family will gather briefly prior to the service beginning. The family respectfully requests any memorial contributions be made to help offset final expenses for Mr. Bridges.
