Lenoir, NC- Mr. James Albon ?Boggie? Clarke, age 69, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at his home. Born July 17, 1939 in Caldwell County, James was a son of the late Columbus and Minnie Putman Clarke. James was a plant manager in the textile industry and attended Conways Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by three sisters, Helen Cobb, Marie Ernest, and Edith Abee; One brother, Joe Clarke; Two half sisters, Alva Garrison and Lona Pennely; Four half brothers, Arnold Clarke, C.P. Clarke, Granville Clarke, and Nick Clarke. James is survived by a daughter and son in law, Dee Anna Clarke and Brent Robinson of Stanley; Two sons and a daughter in law, Steve and Debbie Clarke of Alabama, and Jim Clarke of Little River, SC; One step daughter, Diana and Westbrook Hosse of Huntersville; Two brothers, Ernest and Geraldine Clarke of Morganton, and John and Kaye Clarke of Lenoir; One sister Katherine McGallard of Lenoir; One sister in law, Odessa Clarke of Valdese; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Clarke?s life will be held Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Steve Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family will also be receiving friends at 2071 Glass Road in Lenoir. Interment will be in the Braswell Family Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffery Clarke, Adam Clarke, Nelson Miller, John-David Miller, R.L. McGallard, John Moore Jim Murphy, and Felton Corpening. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Arvis Boughman. Memorials can be made to Helping Hands of Lenoir.
