Jake Clenmore Watson

April 29, 1929 — November 19, 2023

Jake Clenmore Watson, age 94, of Lenoir, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 19th at his home.

Jake was born in Caldwell County on April 29, 1929 to the late Jesse and Evie Clark Watson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Clayton and Pete Watson and his sister Barabra Madison.

Those left to cherish Jake’s memory include his loving wife of 70 years Juanita Campbell Watson; one son, Kevin Watson of Blowing Rock, and one daughter Teresa Watson Thomas (Charles) also of Lenoir. He is also survived by grandson Charlie Thomas (Amy) and 3 great grandchildren, Reagan, Lillian and Hudson all of Lake Wylie, SC.

Jake proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Crest View Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Church Treasurer for 34 years.

Jake retired as Director of Human Resources after 35 years from Armstrong World Industries.

Jake loved the Lord and will be remembered as one who lived a life of service to others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Crest View Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Mike Isaacs officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 before the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Army and the Caldwell County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7257.
