Jacob Hunter Moore

Jacob Hunter Moore, age 19, went home to be with Jesus on April 23 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. He was born to Wendy Byerly on April 9, 2004. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert and Martha Byerly and his paternal grandfather Paul Hunter Moore.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mom, Wendy Byerly and his siblings Amber Moore and boyfriend Stephen Kirby, Jesse Moore, and Will Moore and girlfriend Kaylen Shuping and her daughter Kinsley Lester. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Lorraine Moore. His aunts and uncles are Melissa “Lisa” Norwood and husband Stevie Norwood, Robbie and Chrissy Byerly, Kimberly Hope and Michael Higgins, and Aunt Nikki Angley Allen. He is also survived by his cousins Morgan Higgins, Ben Byerly, Brady Byerly, and RB Byerly and his kids Peyton and Westin. He is also survived by several great aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his special nurse Lisa Salyer that faithfully cared for Jacob for 7 years along with her son Matt Salyer.

Jacob’s smile would light up any room. He would always greet you with a hug and a kiss. He loved everyone in his life. Jacob was a young man with many needs, but he was a fighter his whole life. He loved McDonald’s cheeseburgers. He loved to chew on straws, washcloths, and his mommy’s shirts. Jacob’s favorite color was blue. He loved his stuffed animals. You could always find Jacob rocking to his Bluegrass music, including his favorite song “Black Eyed Susie” by Ralph Stanley.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Calvary Advent Christian Church in Lenoir. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am and the funeral will follow at 12:00 pm. Internment will take place at Worship Point Baptist Church. Reverend Jim Lee will be officiating the service. Speakers will be Reverend David Gragg and Larry Bryant. Pallbearers will be RB Byerly, Ben Byerly, Brady Byerly, Matt Salyer, Hunter Bryant, and Joshua Higgins.
