Jack Mason Witherspoon

Mr. Jack Mason Witherspoon, age 81, of Hudson passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born June 7, 1939 in Caldwell County, Jack was a son of the late Augustus and Bertha Gittens Witherspoon.Jack was self employed as a painter for many years.After years of being self employed, he retired from Jack Sipe Construction.He was a member of the United States National Guard.He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed Football and Nascar.Some of the things he enjoyed most were reading his Bible and spending time in the mountains.The thing that Jack enjoyed most was spending time with his grandkids.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lynn Witherspoon; his siblings, Johnny, Roy, Leon, Joe, Vern, Katherine, Bunny, Calvin and Blanche; a grandson, James Simpkins II; a great grandchild, Isabella; his beloved pet, Rusty. Survivors include his children, Jeff Witherspoon ( wife Nancy), Julia Miller (husband Keith) and Jody Witherspoon (wife Alicia); his grandchildren, Annie Johnson (husband Tim), Heather Cline (husband Bobby),Ashley Barlowe (husband Coty), Amber Witherspoon and Mary Dregley (husband Jeremy);his great grandchildren, Cheyenne (His birthday twin), Anna, Adalynn, Trinity, Ethyn, Isabella, Desiree, Taylor Elizabeth, Jessie James, Olivia, Tyler, Dominick, Arianna and Calvin; a great great granddaughter, Teagan; two siblings, Judy Holder and Marie Hyatt; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.
