Jack Triplett

Lenoir, NC- On Friday, September, 30, 2011, a sweet and gentle soul, loving husband, daddy, paw paw and friend, Mr. Jack Triplett, age 77, of Lenoir, went to be with his Lord and Savior from Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born June 23, 1934 in Wilkes County, Mr. Triplett was a son of the late Zebelon Vance and Georgia Hall Triplett. Mr. Triplett was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church and had served as a volunteer fireman with the Patterson Fire Department. He worked in the furniture industry for many years and was the former fire chief with Singer Furniture. Mr. Triplett’s greatest love was his music. He enjoyed his Martin guitar and used it to share music in church and at rest homes. If you played music with Jack, the family invites you to bring your instrument and play along with others to honor Jack. Another joy was the sport of softball which he played for many years. Other than his parents, Mr. Triplett was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Hubert, Commadore, Willie, Tamery and Glenn Triplett and 3 sisters, Mable Keller, Anna Watson and Nina Rae Edmisten. He is survived by the love of his life, Ethel Naomi Triplett to whom they shared 44 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Clayton Marshall Hawkins and wife Lynett; 2 daughters, Linda Ann Taylor and husband Roger, Princess Hope Kralovics; 2 granddaughters, Crystal Smith Wagoner and husband Harvey, Shelby Bishop; two great-grandkids, Hunter and Samaria Wagoner; his twin brother, Mack Triplett, one sister, Hazel T. Aldridge and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Triplett’s life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Van Profitt, Reverend Steve Butler, and Pastor Scott Philyaw  officiating. Burial will follow in the Walsh/Triplett Family Cemetery in Ferguson with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 5 until 7 PM at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir. Pallbearers will be: Wayne Triplett, Tim Austin, Harvey Wagoner, Jr., Will Johnson, Ronnie Everhart and Roger Whitman. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Great- Grandson Hunter Wagoner Neil Hawn, Todd Storie, Darral Triplett. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
