Jack Millard Holsclaw

Jack Millard Holsclaw, Sr., 82, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born January 24, 1929 the son of the late Millard William and Rhea Estes Holsclaw. He graduated from Collettsville High School in 1947. He retired from TRW in Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Leyte. He is preceded in death by his wife Hilda P. Holsclaw, his sister Betty H. Weaver, and his nephew James Boyd Clarke. He is survived by his sons, Jack M. Holsclaw, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Hickory and Glenn B. Holsclaw of Huntsburg, Ohio. His sisters, Barbara H. Bolick, Mary Texie Clarke and husband Gene, and Valerie H. McRary all of Lenoir and Sarah H. Arney of Matthews, NC.   He is also survived by a step-grandson and step-granddaughter, 5 nephews and 1 niece, 6 great-nephews and 3 great-niece, numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of very special friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 4th, 2011 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the services. Private burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Christopher R. Curtis, Thomas B. McRary, Gregory A. McRary, Mark W. Bolick, Dennis R.
