Jack Marvin Greene

Patterson, NC- Mr. Jack Marvin Greene, age 79, of Patterson, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Caldwell Memorial Hospital. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.   He was born April 9, 1929 in Wilkes County, a son of the late Walter W. and Minnie G. Greene. Mr. Greene was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Broyhill Furniture Company. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph W. Greene and three sisters, Hannah McNeil, Joanne Bryon and Shirley Jean Moore. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mamie Kirby Greene; two sons, Darrell Greene and wife Carol of Hudson; Kenny Greene and wife Reba of Lenoir; two daughters, Pat Caudill and husband Danny of Hudson; Kaye Greene of Patterson; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Howard (Tally) Greene and wife Betty of Hollywood Ridge Road and sister, Arvee (Pete) Harmon and husband George of Lenoir and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Greene?s life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2008 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Raymond Spann and Reverend Clyde Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 6 until 7:30 PM. Pallbearers will be: Dillard Kirby, Robert Greene, Timmy Greene, Bryan Coffey, Mark Ward and Gary Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Devon Gilreath, Tray Greene, Hunter Greene, Josh Greene, Eric Church and Christopher Church.
