Jack Caldwell

Granite Falls – Jack Dale Caldwell, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at College Pines Nursing Facility. He was born in Caldwell County on April 19, 1929 to the late Walter Clyde Caldwell and Lucy Barkley Caldwell. He was married to Peggy Keller Caldwell of the residence for 68 years. Jack was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a life-long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the owner/operator of Rhodhiss Furniture for 25 years. He was loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his loyal and unselfish acts of kindness for family, friends and even strangers. Jack had a gift of humor and storytelling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Caldwell; Wayne Caldwell and Paul Caldwell; and his sisters, Johnsie Woods and Ava Rast. Other than his wife, Jack is survived by his daughter, Dianne Caldwell; son, Jim Caldwell and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Amber Caldwell and Nicholas Caldwell and wife, Kalie; sisters, Joann McLelland and Judy Bryant and husband, Jerry; brothers-in-law, Earl Woods and Dan Rast; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Owen and Pastor Edd Warren officiating.
