Iris Poston Osborne

Iris Poston Osborne, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Dante, VA on July 29, 1938 to the late Harvey and Sally Poston.

Iris was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who leaves behind her daughters, Ruby McCoy; Linda Townsend; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Mullins and Dana Pearl Holbrook of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dent “Pete” Osborne; daughters, Betty Sue Hill; Mary Chester; Debbie Osborne; brothers, James, TJ and Paul Poston; and sisters, Pauline, Ina and Mary.

A celebration of Iris’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be: BJ Hill, James Castle, Nathan Osborne, Dustin Chester, Josh Townsend and Drew Ireson.
