Irene Kirby Barlow

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Irene Kirby Barlow, age 88, of Lenoir, died Friday, September 14, 2007 in Wilkesboro. Born August 7, 1919 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Barlow was a daughter of the late Henry McCoy and Minnie Cordelia Reid Kirby and the wife of the late William Charles Barlow. She is survived by two sons, William Charles Barlow, III and wife Wanda of Lenoir; Clinton R. Barlow and wife Gail of Hudson; 3 daughters, Gwendolyn Irene Alford of Asheville; Barbara Marlene Holloman of Hudson; Becky Stafford of Lenoir; nine Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carolyn Shoe; 5 brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2007 in Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16, 2007 from 6 until 8 PM at Evans Funeral Service and at other times at the home of her daughters, Becky Stafford, 932 Hibriten Drive in Lenoir and Barbara Holloman, 137 Whispering Pines Drive, Hudson.
