Ira Borders

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Ira Borders, age 83, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Lenoir HealthCare. He was the son of the late Leonard and Nannie McGee Borders. Mr. Borders was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Lenoir, a retired furniture manufacturing supervisor and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving active duty in Korea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnsie Cline Borders, one son Ira Michael Borders; his sisters, Helen Marie Borders and Lillie Borders Bryant; and infant sister, Mildred Faye Borders. He is survived by his son, Ricky Borders and wife, Felicia; granddaughters, Dawn Yates and husband, Alan; and Tonia Scott; great-grandsons, Wesley Yates, Michael Scott, and Gabriel Scott; and one great-granddaughter, Adrian Yates. A celebration of Mr. Border’s life will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir with Pastor Alan Carr officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 until 12:00 PM, prior to the service.
