Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ila Robbins Robinson, age 97, of Lenoir, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at Lenoir HealthCare Center. A native of Watauga County, Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Jethro Avery and Effie Jeanette Storie Robbins and the wife of the late John Hampton Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was the oldest member of First Advent Christian Church where she had served as a deaconess, sang in the church choir and was active in the women?s missionary circle. She loved gardening, canning and freezing vegetables. She had worked many years with Singer Furniture. Survivors include her two daughters, Betty Hodges and husband Dale of Lenoir; Mozelle Younce of Lenoir; 4 grandchildren, Robin Coffey and husband Danny; Mark Younce and wife Cindy; Barry Hodges and wife Kelly and Jon Younce all of Lenoir; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Other than her husband a parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Marvin Robbins, Carl Robbins and Charlie Robbins; 3 sisters, Edith Martin, Evie Keller and Willis Pearson and her son-in-law Brudge Younce. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2006 in Belleview Cemetery with Reverend Robert Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir. Memorials may be made to First Advent Christian Church, PO Box 1714, Lenoir, NC 28645.
