Hubert William Duncan

Hudson, NC – Hubert William Duncan, 87, of Hudson, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 10, 2011.  Born August 28, 1923, he was the son of the late Harvey and Oma Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was retired from Singer Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Duncan Curtis, Juanita Duncan, and Thelma Duncan Beckham; and five brothers, Carpenter Lee Duncan, Charlie Duncan, Floyd Duncan, Ralph Duncan, and Harold Duncan. He is survived by wife, Elsie Morrison Duncan of the home, two sisters, Mary Duncan Pope and Mayno Duncan Benfield of Hudson; loving caregiver, Vickie Morrison; and a number of special nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Burial will immediately follow the service in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service and all other times at the home of Carroll and Kathleen Curtis, Granite Falls, NC.
