Howard Horne

Mr. Howard Joel Horne, age 71, of Granite Falls passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home.Born January 28, 1949 in Caldwell county, Howard was a son of the late Frank and Callie Beatrice Horn. Howard was a veteran of the US Army and served during Vietnam. He worked for many years at Broyhill Occasional 1. The thing he enjoyed most was carp fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Staines Horne; two sisters, Margaret Benge and Mary Dean;a brother, Jerry Horne. He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Bailey (husband Thomas) and Marie Horne; His sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Vicki and Annie; two brothers, Junior and Jimmy; a grandson, Lane Bailey; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Howard’s life will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:30PM in the Laurel Haven Cemetery with Chaplain Jason Hines officiating. Howard will lie in state in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
