Lenoir – Houston Williams, Jr., age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1946 to the late Houston Williams Sr. and Annie Denny Williams. Houston grew up in the Freedman Community and attended Freedman High School. He was a member of New Covenant Methodist Church (formerly Harper’s Chapel Methodist Church). Houston retired from Bernhardt Furniture and Caldwell Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lee Williams and his brother, Jeffrey Williams. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Joanne Corpening Williams; sons, Houston Williams III; Tony Williams and wife, Andrea; Jonathan Williams and wife, Sherry; Darius Williams; daughters, Marcella Williams and Donyell Haynes and husband, Willie; grandchildren, Breanna Horton; Antonio Patterson; Tony Petty; Khloe Williams; Jordan Williams; Faith Williams; Allen Williams and wife, Tameka; Labreeka Jones; Kendall Jones; Najaha, Kaleigha and Nehemiah Haynes; great-grandchildren, Latayviona Horton; Aubreana Patterson; Tristan Jones; and La’el Jones; brother, Eddie Williams; sisters, Elleareca Lynch and husband, Tim; and Carrie Williams ; niece, Katina Powell; and a numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service for Houston will be held at New Covenant Methodist Church on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charlie Rivens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. Evans Funeral Service & Crematory of Lenoir is serving the Williams Family.
