Hoover Watson

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Hoover Watson, age 82, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012. Born August 24, 1930 in Watauga County, Hoover was the son of the late Jasper Watson and Veenie Beard Watson. He was the husband of Charlotte Church Watson with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Hoover worked at the National Veneer Company for 45 years. He was preceded in death by one son Gary Lee Watson. Other than his wife he is survived by daughters Wanda Hudson and Sherry Woods of Lenoir and Benita Watson of Morganton. Hoover left behind six grandchildren, Chris Huffstetler of Granite Falls, Shane Watson of Oak Hill, Trevor, McKenzie, Zackary, and Bailey Woods of Lenoir. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Casey Watson of Oak Hill, and Cory, Brooke, and Tyler Huffstetler of Granite Falls. A service honoring Hoover’s memory will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at NewSong Church in Lenoir from 2:00 until 4:00 PM.
