Hershel Kell Hudson, NC – Mr. Hershel Lee Kell, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Camelot Manor Nursing Care. He was born in East Prairie, MO on July 27, 1933 to the late James (Jack) Owen Kell and Minnie Whitlock Kell. He was married to Lena Gulley Kell of the residence. He left East Prairie when he was a teenager and opened up a newspaper stand and later he went to school to learn the ministry. From then on he would preach the word of God to many. He lived in Hudson for more than 40 years.  Mr. Kell was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marjorie Stamey Kell, 5 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandchild. Other than his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Ruby McRary; Roger Stamey and wife, Jean; Edna Mae Blair and husband, Joe; sister, Shirley Edelstein and husband, Milton of Carmel, NY; brothers, Carroll Kell and wife, Eleanor of Farmingham, MA and Paul Kell of Richland, MO; 8 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Kell’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 12:00 with Pastor Buford Pennell and Pastor Wade Mitchell officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Church on the Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
