Ms. Helen Arlene Sloan, age 49, of Piedmont Drive, Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home.She was born December 23, 1969 in Burke County to Linda Fullwood Sloan and the late James Sloan. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by two infant children; grandfather, James “Hambone” Fullwood and her grandmother, Claudia Sloan Sullivan. In addition to her mother survivors include one son, Jaquain Timothy Blake Sloan of Los Angeles California; one daughter, Keiziah Sloan of Lenoir; half-brother, Shea Davenport of Charlotte; grandmother, Helen Fullwood of Morganton and NO SISTERS.She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Ms. Sloan was a true lady of God and always had a testimony to share. She was an active member of People’s Tabernacle for God Incorporated where she sang in the choir, served on the culinary committee, she volunteered at the Yokefellow in Lenoir and The Caldwell County Wig Bank.She was a manager at Big Lots in Lenoir and most recently, Bo’s Family Entertainment Center.She will always be remembered as a pillar of the community and a loving mother and daughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Paul AME church at 2:00 PM conducted by Dr. Byron Grayson and Bishop Michael Sloan.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
