Helen Coggins Laxton

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Helen Louise Coggins Laxton, age 81, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Robbinsville, NC on June 16, 1930 to the late John Alonzo Coggins and Bertha Sherrill Coggins. She was married to the late Willie Linville Laxton for 55 years. Mrs. Laxton was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church for over 40 years. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard Coggins and Burl Coggins; and her sister, Hazel Marie Craig. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Diana Laxton McNeil and Hansel; Jane Laxton Cole and Gerald; grandchildren, John Glen McNeil and wife, Sareatha; Laura NcNeil Clontz and husband, Mark; Carrie McNeil; Amanda Cole Polen and husband, Thomas; great-grandchildren, Tabatha McNeil, Samantha McNeil, Samara McNeil, Sara Clontz, Emma Clontz and Gianna Brooke Polen; and her cat, Molly. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ed Warren and Pastor David Woods officiating. Pallbearers will be: Roger Laxton, Ronnie Laxton, Thomas Polen, Gerald Cole, John McNeil, and Mark Clontz. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
