Helen Harris

Lenoir- Helen Cannon Harris, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born in Caldwell County on February 12, 1934 to the late James Jefferson Cannon and Lois Watson Cannon. She worked the beginning of her work life at American & Efird Mills and retired from Shuford Mills. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always took care of her family. Helen loved animals and enjoyed collecting lighthouses. She was of Baptist Faith and a member of Hibriten Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Maria Harris and her son, James Randal Harris. Also, her sister, Faye Cannon Bryant. Helen is survived by her brother, Donald Lee Cannon; sister, Jean Cannon Mann; grandson, Roger Michael Harris; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Piper and Adler Rector; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Preacher Scott Barlowe officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service.
