Helen Curtis

Lenoir- Helen Farmer Curtis, age 76, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at College Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Gaston County on December 13, 1942 to the late Johnie Jackson and Ruby Lytton Farmer. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked at the Caldwell County School Education Center for more than 20 years with a brief time of disability before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Aileen Cloer; and two sisters, Elsie Moss and Tammy Shook. Helen is survived by her daughter, Lori Curtis Cloer; son, John Curtis; grandchildren, Phillip Cloer and wife, Shae; Tyranda Cloer; and Rachel Smith; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Case Cloer; and other sisters, brother and nieces and nephews. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Nicky Waters, Pastor Mark Dula and Burke Hospice Chaplain Mike Costner officiating.
