Hattie J. Rumfelt

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Hattie June Scalf Rumfelt, age 67 of Lenoir, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born September 29, 1941 Big Stone Gap Virginia, Mrs. Rumfelt was the daughter of the late Farley and Mossie Margaret Katherine Wade Scalf. Mrs. Rumfelt worked in the furniture industry for many years in the finishing room. She was also a talented seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Rupert Rumfelt; a son, Norman David Rumfelt; one granddaughter and one grandson. She is survived by seven daughters and a son in law, Doris and Larry Coffey of Hudson, Barbara Smith of Hudson, Lillian Broyhill of Sawmills, Karen Crump, of Hudson, Vicky Poarch of Boone, Laura Rumfelt of Sawmills, and Marie Poarch of Conover; she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
