Hattie Jane Arnold

Hattie Jane Arnold, 97, born on July 31, 1921 in Caldwell County, passed away on March 7, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Rev. Jacob W. and Hattie Eller Fox. Hattie was a devout Christian woman and known prayer warrior for all. Hattie had a great love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat Lola. Hattie, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by brothers: Javan Fox of Portsmouth, VA; Knolan Fox of Lenoir; and Finley Fox of Valdese and sisters: Ruth Lowman of Valdese and Christine Clark of Oxford, NC. She is preceded in death by two daughters: Patricia McGee of Lenoir and Shirley Hall of Lenoir; and a step-son: Jimmy Jay Furr of Concord. Hattie, also, is preceded in death by her beloved cat, Cookie. Hattie is survived by a brother Glenn Fox of Florida. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Barfield of Baton. Hattie leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Hattie is, also, survived by her beloved cat, Lola. There will be a service to honor Hattie’s life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Evans Funeral Chapel at 2:00 pm; officiated by Rev. Wayne White. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
