Harry F. Foster

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. Harry Edward Foster, age 74, of Granite Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Pallaitive Care in Hudson. Born December 23, 1937 in Caldwell County, Harry was a son of Vercie Price Foster and the late Harley Foster. Harry was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver for close to forty years. He worked for Hickory Springs Truck Manufacturing for the last 15 years of his career. Harry enjoyed working on anything mechanical. He loved playing guitar and singing. He loved the outdoors and had to always stay busy. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Foster. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 22 years, Debra Foster of the Home; two sons and a daughter in law, Todd Foster of High Point, and Casey and Kathy Jones of Lenoir; one daughter and son in law, Kristy and Andrew Hardway of Granite Falls; one sister and brother in law, Jean Teague, husband Gerald, of Hickory; a brother and sister in law, Gwen Foster, wife Diane, of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren, Caleb Jones, Isaac Jones, Ethan Jones, Dylan Jones, Elijah Erwood, Brandon McNeil, Brandy Foster and Jordan Foster; he is also survived by two great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 4:00 PM with Reverend Clyde Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Crotts, Gerald Kaylor, Johnny Cline, Curtis Cole, Darren McCrary, Robin Shaw, Ray Flemming, and John McCrary. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
