Harrison Arthur Sanders

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Harrison Arthur “Tub” Sanders, age 76, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born April 3, 1933 in Caldwell County, he is a son of the late Arthur Sanders and Bertha Hart Borders. Mr. Sanders was a native and lifelong resident of Caldwell County. He was Baptist by faith and attended the Full Gospel Assembly Church. He worked many years in the boiler room at Broyhill Furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Lynn Sanders; a sister, Sarah Emma “Pat” Cox; two brothers, Fred Sanders and John Henry Allen; a stepbrother, Gene Borders; and his stepfather, Cline Borders.  Surviving are his wife, Freda Greer Sanders of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Johnny Price of Lenoir, and Betsy Johnson of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Judy Sanders of Lenoir, Gary and Vickie Sanders of Lenoir, Buddy and Darlene Sanders of Lenoir, and Randy and Frances Sanders of Lenoir; two sisters-in-law, Reba Wilcox of Wilkesboro, Floy Gentle of Kannapolis; one brother-in-law, Hersel Greer of Wilkesboro; 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, and three step-great-great grandchildren; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  A celebration of life for Mr. Sanders will take place on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Reverend Buford Pennell, Reverend Jim Lee, and Reverend D.H. Winkler. Pallbearers will be Paul Moretz, Jeremey Setzer, Kyle Haney, Jon Haney, David Price, and Jeff Winkler. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Reid and Steve Penny.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service.   Entombment will take place at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to his wife Freda Sanders at 319 Spruce Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.  Online condolences may be sent to the Sanders Family at www.evansfuneralservice.com  Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir is serving the Sanders Family.
