Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Harriet Epman Lodge, age 99, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Lodge was born June 5, 1911 in Los Angeles, CA, to the late Ed and Helen Epman. Mrs. Lodge worked for many years as the Deputy District Director of Los Angeles County Department of Welfare. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Max Lodge, and her brother, Marty Epman. Mrs. Lodge is survived by her son, Barry Lodge and wife Karen of Lenoir; her sister Elsie Koff of California; three grandchildren, Darrin Lodge and wife Karen of Oregon; Kristin Sandlian of Washington, D.C.; William Sandlian and wife Leah of Washington; and five great-grandsons. She was also survived by her special friend, Helen Williams; special caretakers, Judy and Sandy; and the caring staff of Caldwell Hospice. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 28, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir. Chaplain Steve Butler will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Mrs. Lodge?s home.
