Harold A. Soots, 74, of Granite Falls went home to be with the Lord February 17, 2017. He was born January 4, 1943 to the late Bill and Ollie Soots. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Blockade aboard the II U.S.S Corry DDR817. He later worked as a professional truck driver for Broyhill Furniture Industries for 35 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Walter A. Soots. Harold is survived by his wife, Lula Soots, of 54 years. His sons David and wife Kristy of Hickory, Mark and wife Melissa of Lenoir, and Charles “Chris” of the home. Four brothers: Bradley, Ray, Charles, A.V. And two sisters, Maggie and Katrina. His grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Victoria, Derek, Autumn, Peyton, and one great-grandson, Stefan, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The celebration of his life will take place at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Keith Gilliam, Pastor Gray Williams and Pastor David Crisp officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
