Harold E. Reese

Lenoir- Harold Edward Reese, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 19, 1945 to the late Harold W. Reese and Dorothy J. Reese. Harold was married to Terri Fox Reese for 40 years. After graduating from high school in Hialeah, FL, Harold went on to graduate from Miami – Dade College with a degree in Law Enforcement, which was his passion. Upon retiring from his profession, his life remained dedicated to supporting his fellow officers. Later, Harold and Terri located to western North Carolina to pursue their “ adventures of a life-time”. While battling kidney disease, Harold received “the gift of life”, a kidney transplant in 2016. Overwhelmed with gratitude and love he became a strong supporter of organ donation. Harold was recently awarded an honorary life-time membership presented by his many special friends at Lenoir Golf Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Reese and his brother, Thomas Reese. Other than his wife, Harold is survived by his daughter, Laura Zumer and husband, Danny and their son, Nicholas, and daughters, Lauren and Tara;his son, Marcus Horschel and wife, Sarah and their daughter, Avaya and son, Brody; brothers, Robert Reese and William Reese; father and mother-in-law, Elwood and Janet Fox; brother-in- law, Jim Fox and wife, Alice; nieces, Mallory and Hannah; and nephew, David;brother-in-law, Scott Fox and nephew, Kaelin and niece, Hailey; and Harold’s beloved dog, Charlie. There will be a celebration of Harold’s life at a later date.
