Harold S. Hickok

Harold Hickok, 85, of Bethlehem passed away Monday, March 19, 2013 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Hickory. Born January 9, 1928 in Jamestown, New York he attended Cherry Creek High School where he graduated class Valedictorian in 1945. He served 2 years in the Army after which he began his working career with the Erie Railroad following in the footsteps of his father and Grandfather. In 1968 at the age of 40, he and his wife Betty Lou moved to Bethlehem where Harold began a second career at Piedmont Natural Gas where he worked for 22 years before retiring at age 62. His hobbies included Wood Working, Golf and Music. He was a very talented Musician and played various instruments in his Orchestra for many years. After moving to North Carolina he played Trumpet in the Lenior Community Church Band for 28 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Betty Lou, 3 children, Gary, Greg, and Cynthia, 8 Grand Children and 5 Great Grand Children. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Lenoir Community Church, 1002 Lower Creek Drive N.E., Lenoir, N.C. 28645.
