Harold Dean Gentry

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Harold Dean Gentry, age 77, of Lenoir, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Gentry was born in Caldwell County on August 15, 1932 to the late Letcher and Bonnie Caudle Gentry. Dean was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Abington Road Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in furniture for over 40 years before retiring from Broyhill. Dean also enjoyed spending time working in his workshop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Gentry; a sister, Dorothy Gentry; and two grandchildren, Michelle Everhart and Wayne Dale Gentry, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Betty Carlton Gentry of the home; a daughter, Carolyn R. Gentry of Lenoir; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Willard D. Gentry of Lenoir, Wayne Dale Gentry of Morganton, and Mark D. and Vicki Gentry of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Kendra M. Gentry, Gavin Dean Gentry, Brenda Rowell, Tricia Gentry, and Mark Gentry, Jr.; he is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Gentry?s life will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 3:30 at the Abington Road Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the church prior to the service.
