Harold Davis

Lenoir – Mr. Harold Ira Davis, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Andrews, NC on March 24, 1943 to the late Frank H. Davis and Maude Allen Davis. He was married to Sandra Grulke Davis of the residence. Mr. Davis was a dedicated veteran of the United States Army, serving three tours in Vietnam. During his time in the Army Corps of Engineers he mastered his trade in carpentry. Mr. Davis was a kind, loving man who respected others and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Davis; sisters, Frankie Mae Luther and Mary Frances Roland. Other than his wife, he is survived by his children, Harold Joseph Davis and wife, Tanya; Jennette Davis Thomas and husband, Ronnie; Cynthia Dorton and husband, David; Dawn Shepard; Stephen Davis; Ruth Davis-Kamm and husband, Matthew; and Thomas Davis; sister, Barbara Sue Hogan and husband, Bob; brothers, Charles Fred Davis and Jimmy Hughes and wife, Vickie; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Davis’ life will be held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Robert Allen officiating.
