Hadena E Roberts

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Hadena E. Roberts, age 94, of Hudson, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born October 15, 1918 in Smythe County, Virginia, Hadena was a daughter of the late Emory Luther and Josephine Johnson Heffinger. She was a former member of the Sandlick United Methodist Church in Sandlick, West Virginia. She was a member of the Hudson United Methodist Church. Hadena was a member of the Women’s Home Extension Program and also a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Hadena was a proud homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed doing crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Roberts; a sister Frances McKinnon; three brothers, Ernest Heffinger, Preston Heffinger, and Carl Heffinger. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Cottrell of Spring Branch, TX, Patsy Foster, husband Robert, of Hudson, NC, and Barbara Bradley, husband Danny, of Berryville, VA; she is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. A celebration of Hadena’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Brittain officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
