Gwen Philyaw

Lenoir- Gwen “Granny” Philyaw, age 75, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born in Caldwell County on August 13, 1943 to the late William and Grace Crowe. Granny will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ransom Philyaw; sister, Lynn Dula; brother, David Crowe; and granddaughter, Heather Rector. She is survived by her children, Jackie Ruppard; Wendy Phillips; Suzanne Hall Turnmire; and Kenneth Philyaw; brother, Bill Crowe; sister, Gina Duncan; grandchildren, Mikeal Hawkins; Michelle Barrier; Ellen Epright; Ryan Philyaw; and Robert Philyaw; great-grandchildren, Journee Bradley; Talon Barrier; Jayden Barrier; Lily Hawkins. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
