Guy Thomas Franzen

Guy Franzen (65) of Lenoir, North Carolina, went to fish the wild brook trout streams of heaven

this past Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with small-cell lung cancer. Guy

was born on February 14th, 1959 in Cochise County, Arizona. He is survived by his

wife of 41 years, Allison Safley Franzen, children Patrick

(Marissa) Franzen, Elizabeth (Nathan) Chestnut, Christopher (Jessica) Franzen, and John

Franzen. He is also survived by his three incredible grandchildren Waylon, Isabelle, and Sloan

Franzen, mother Patricia Wyant Franzen Jandacek, step siblings, Jim, Jane, Steven, and stepmother Melinda.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather George Jandacek and his father Carl Franzen.

Guy met the love of his life, Allison, and they wed on August 7th, 1983. Together they built a

family with a strong foundation of love, loyalty, forgiveness, acceptance, faith and values.

Services for Guy Franzen will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lenoir

Presbyterian Church. (1002 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir NC 28645). In Lieu of Flowers, please
