Gus Grimes

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Gus Grimes, Jr. age 62, of Lenoir, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born December 5, 1944 in Watauga County, Mr. Grimes was a son of the late Martha Haigler Grimes and the husband of Marguerite Scott Grimes of the home. Mr. Grimes was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of People?s Tabernacle. He had worked as an electrician with Tri City Electric in Atlanta, Broyhill Furniture, Kincaid Furniture and Gibbons Electric. Surviving other than his wife are 3 sons, Clarke Mervin and wife Lynda of Hickory; Gustvure Grant Bowers and wife Sandra of Lenoir; Terrance Grimes and wife Kristin of Hickory; two daughters, Andra Deon Logan and husband Raymond of Lenoir; Patrice Simpson and husband Terry of Hickory; his father, Gus Grimes, Sr. and wife Lorene of Hickory, three sisters, Sherri Horton and husband Gene of Mooresville; Debra Grimes of Richland Hills, Texas; Marsha Burgess and husband Terry of Lenoir; 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren. Other than his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Andra Quinett Grimes and a brother, Gus Lee Grimes. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2007 at Mount Pilgrim Church with Rev. James Perkins, Rev. Lenny Moore and Evangelist Carlene Horton officiating.
