Grady Stanley Blackburn

Boomer, NC- Mr. Grady Stanley Blackburn, age 88, of Boomer, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home. He was born October 18, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Roscoe and Docie Carlton Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Mary Ellen Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by his brothers, Finley, Walter, and Howard Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn was a U.S. Army veteran and worked in timber. He is also survived by two sons, Stanley Blackburn and wife LaShea of Lincolnton; Lewis Blackburn and wife Kimberlaine of Boomer; one brother, Thomas Blackburn of Granite Falls and two Grandchildren, Kristina Blackburn and Christopher Blackburn. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, September 20, 2010 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir with Elder John Jackson officiating.
