Grace Griffin Huffman

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Grace Leona Griffin Huffman, age 85, of Hickory Nut Ridge Road in Hudson; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Born September 22, 1930 to the late William and Motetey Griffin, Mrs. Huffman was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Huffman; five brothers, three sisters; and a great grandson, Logan Huffman. Mrs. Huffman was an active member of Church on the Rock in Sawmills where she had been a member since 1977. Mrs. Huffman retired from Shuford Mills in Hudson after over thirty years of service. Mrs. Huffman was many things to many people, but her love of God and her family guided her life and allowed her to touch the lives of those people. Grace was an angel on earth who always put the needs of others before herself. Mrs. Huffman is survived by four children: Darlene Hartley and husband Walter of Granite Falls, Lewis Huffman and wife Linda of Lenoir, John Regnal Huffman Sr. of Hudson, and Tina Stout and husband David of Hudson. Mrs. Huffman is also survived by two grandsons she raised with her husband in their home; John R. Huffman Jr. of Rock Hill, SC, and Ramond Huffman and wife Melissa of Marysville, WA; seven additional grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Magdalene Pritchard and husband Johnny of Lenoir, and Shirley Dover of Hudson; one brother, Howard Griffin and wife Debbie of Keystone Heights, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Huffman’s life will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00am at Church on the Rock in Sawmills with Pastor Julius Wittenberg, Pastor Bobby Pritchard, and Pastor Roger Parker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Church on the Rock. Pallbearers will be Lewis Huffman, John Regnal Huffman Sr., Walter Hartley, David Stout, John R. Huffman Jr., and Ramond Huffman.
