Gloria Allen Simmons

Gloria Allen Simmons, age 64, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her residence.  She was born July 24, 1958 in Iredell County to the late Earl Allen and Mary Bentley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Tim Allen and Johnny Ray Allen; and step-father, Johnny Bentley.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Gordon Simmons; daughter, Shanda Poston and husband David Poston; son, Bradley Simmons and wife Erin Simmons; grandchildren; Dakota Simmons, Shaylee Poston, Aleeya Poston, Kyle Poston, and Emilee Poston; brother, Ronnie Allen and wife Janet Allen; sister, Teresa Matheson and husband Bobby Matheson; brother-in-law, George Simmons and wife Jane; sisters-in-law, Jane Stamey and husband David; Martha Greer; and many other family and friends.

Gloria loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Roger L. Beck.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
