Glenda Mae Mcelyea

Glenda Taylor McElyea of Lenoir, NC passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born in Mountain City, Tennessee to Roy Gamble and Faye Vanover. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she always enjoyed getting out going places and riding the roads. Glenda was preceded in death by both her mother and father, her husband, Franklin Hiram McElyea, of 60 years, one son, Jason McElyea, two sons-in-law, Tony Curtis and Jerry Colbert, one niece, one brother and three sisters. Glenda is survived by one sister, Pearl Osbourne, one brother, Paul Vanover: nine children, Brenda Curtis, Linda Carson and Husband Dennis, Frank McElyea, Tracy McElyea and boyfriend Alvin Stiles, Della Colbert, Jeff McElyea, Jackie McElyea and girlfriend Tiffany Phillips. Rita Martin and boyfriend Kyle Mansch, Robin Fox and husband LaShawn. Her eighteen grandchildren, Jennifer Beamon, Tonya Church, Angie Alridge, Randy Dula, Eric Carson, Erica Carson, Billy McElyea, Ryan McElyea, Keshia Shropshire, Cody Stiles, Shane McElyea, Michael McElyea, Dustin McElyea, Alyssa Phillips, Brandon Marshall, Amber Martin, Shyheim Williams, and Shawnta Fox. She was also survived by twenty-nine great grandchildren and numerous other loved ones, family, and friends. Funeral Services will be March 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Shane McElyea, Blake McElyea, Michael McElyea, Dustin McElyea, Brandon Marshall, and Eric Carson.
