Geraldine Mink Shell

Geraldine Mink Shell of Hudson, NC passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born August 8, 1936 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Arnold Mink and Gladys Cottrell. Geraldine was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Shell, step-father, Harley Cottrell, and son-in-law James Michaels. Geraldine was formerly of Elizabethton, TN, and she was a long-time member of Heartland Fellowship in Elizabethton, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Geraldine is survived by four daughters, Kim Robertson of Newland, NC, Lisa Barringer of Johnson City, TN, Rachel Michaels of Boone, NC, and Elizabeth Neff and husband Brett of Rock Hill, SC, and two sons Lincoln Anders of Elizabethton, TN and Calvin Shell and wife LaRae of Hudson, NC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Beau Hicks and wife Jessica of Johnson City, TN, Jennifer Hicks of Morganton, Bradley Barringer and wife, Annie of Johnson City, TN, Joseph Barringer of Johnson City, TN, Justin Williams of Elizabethton, TN, Chris Anders and wife Allie of Granite Falls, Katelyn Anders of Granite Falls, Holly Michaels of King, NC, Benjamin Rhyder of Rock Hill, SC, Ray Shell of Hudson, Annastasia Shell of Hudson, Kaeli Eldreth and boyfriend Quentin Resendiz of Hudson and Deuce Eldreth of Hudson. Survivors also include six great-grandchildren, Lakken and Breanna Hicks of Johnson City, TN, Christian Hicks of Newland, NC, Gabriel and Jocelyn Mooney of King, NC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Highways to Hedges Ministries, 2186 Broadland Street, Lenoir, NC with Pastor James Wilfong officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Highways to Hedges Ministries, 2186 Broadland Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
