Geraldine Moretz

Geraldine Moretz, 84, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at her residence.She was born January 2, 1936 in McDowell County to the late Charles and Annie Hensley. Survivors include her husband of 61 years Austin Moretz of the home, daughter, Anna Crooke and husband Arex; grandson, Aidan Crooke, all of Lenoir; and sister, Pat Suttles of Asheville. Geraldine was a career educator and retired from Caldwell County Schools.She was a proud graduate of Warren Wilson College and Appalachian State Teachers College.She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hudson.She enjoyed traveling, reading, and learning new things as well as spending time with friends and family. A private graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:Warren Wilson College or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
