Gerald Dulan Palmer

Lenoir- Gerald Dulan Palmer, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home after a brief illness surrounded by his family and favorite pets, Piper and Scruffy. He was born in Caldwell County on April 9, 1943 to the late Arlo and Eula Messer Palmer.He was married to Jeanette Frye Palmer of the home for 55 years. Gerald was a man loved and respected by everyone he knew. He enjoyed life to the fullest and had a special fondness for airplanes, animals, hiking and science. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Levonia Triplett. Other than his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Leah Palmer Bentley and husband, James; Rae Palmer Barker and husband, Luke; grandchildren, Carrie Leigh White; Matthew Joseph McGuire; Cassie Marie Turner; Carter Gerald McGuire; and Caleb James Bentley; seven great-grandchildren; twin sister, Geraldine Huffman; sisters,Irene Ridgeway; Jewel Winkler; Linda Schmidt; Rowena Cole; brothers, Cecil Palmer and Arlo Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Gerald will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 3:30 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating.
